PHILOSOPHY

D'Anne believes a librarian is a guide to the world of knowledge. As that guide, she strives to lead teachers and students in learning, experiencing, and practicing literacy skills in all its forms: foundational, digital, media, visual, social emotional, coding, news, ethical, and more.

A school librarian must keep a bird's eye view on the school's curriculum and bring together teachers and staff as partners in learning and teaching. A successful school librarian is one who can balance a strong resource collection, build a dynamic community of readers and learners, lead students in curricular connections and information exploration, and empower teachers to expand their use of learning technologies and collaborative teaching.
